Associate Professor Setyawan Widyarto is the senior lecturer in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) and Dean of Centre for Graduate Studies (CGS) of Universiti Selangor (UNISEL). He has become a part of UNISEL since 2008 and had served several positions in the university including Dean of Centre for Foundation and General Studies (2014-2016), Head of Program Masters of Science (Computing) and PhD in Computing (2013-2014), Dean of Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (2009-2013), Head of Program Masters of Information Technology (FIIT) (March-September 2009), and Head of Program Masters of Computer Science (Software Engineering, FIIT) (March-September 2009). He is also a founder team of International Academic Research and Technology Center (IARTC) and participates as a member in Association for Information Systems, The International Association of Engineers (IAENG), and Himpunan Fisika Indonesia (HFI). Previously he was part of IEEE Computer Society, Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia (PII), and Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
Assoc. Prof. Setyawan holds a doctorate from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with his research in Computer Science. He took his Master Degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering & Management from University of Bradford, England. His research interest has been revolving around Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Decision Sciences, Multidisciplinary, and Business, Management and Accounting. He has published 18 journal articles, 36 thesis / dissertation / technical reports and participated in 33 international conferences and 24 other conferences. He has also been involved in management of 23 conferences in numerous cities in countries including Indonesia, India, and Malaysia.
Sandi Uno graduated from Wichita State University in 1990 and from George Washington University with an MBA in 1992, paid by William Soerjadjaja, because his mother personally knew the Astra International group founder. He began his career with Summa Bank in 1990. In 1994, he joined MP Group Holding Limited as an investment manager. The following year, he began working for NTI Resources Ltd in Canada and worked as an Executive Vice President in the company. The 1997 financial crisis hit NTI Resources Ltd hard and caused it to go into administration, leaving him unemployed.
In 1997, he co-founded PT. Recapital Advisors with his high school friend, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani. the following year, he co-founded Saratoga Capital with Edwin Soeryadjaya, son of William Soerjadjaja. Both businesses continue to flourish today. Listed as 29th richest man in Indonesia according to Forbes magazine in 2009, he continued to grow his businesses, buying a controlling (51%) stake in Mandala Airlines in May 2011. He was listed as 47th richest man in Indonesia according to Forbes in 2013.
He decided to leave the business world, entering politics in mid-2015. In the period from April to July 2015, he officially resigned from various positions in 16 subsidiaries of Saratoga and Recapital. He appointed as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy on 22 December 2020.
Farhan Firdaus, Partner at Meet Ventures, is a Venture Builder with a proven track record previously as a Series B startup COO and as Head (Venture Building) for an ASEAN-focused agriculture investment firm. As an experienced venture builder and startup advisor, Farhan has mentored close to 500 startup founders in the ASEAN and Oceania region. Some of Farhan's mentees have won national-level competitions in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea and others have been invested by state-level companies and multinational conglomerates.
Farhan is also active in the academic scene, having been invited as Guest Lecturer at leading universities such as RMIT University and ESSEC Business School. He is also a Technopreneurship Scholar at Nanyang Technological University (ranked 11th globally on the QS World University Rankings) and Advisory Board Member at the Singapore Polytechnic School of Business. An emerging thought leader in the business world, Farhan was recognized by the European Commission as a EUVP Young Leader and was appointed by the National Voluntary Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) as a COG Fellow. In 2016, Farhan was invited as a panellist for the Channel News Asia (CNA) Panel on “Economic Disruptions in the Future Economy” together with Minister Ong Ye Kung.
As an individual, Farhan Firdaus is a prominent youth leader in Singapore and the ASEAN region. Formerly an Advisor to the ASEAN Youth Leaders Association (AYLA), Farhan’s contribution towards Youth Development (including education and economic empowerment) covers countries in the region including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar. In addition to contributing time, effort and money for social causes, Farhan is also a social cause advocate and has spoken at platforms like TEDx, the United Nations (UN), United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Global Compact Network Singapore (linked to UN Global Compact). As a result, Farhan has been recognized for his contributions with a National Day Rally Special Mention by Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong, the Soka Ikeda Peace Award, the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award (Singapore) and the Free Market Humanitarian Award (presented by British MP Daniel Hannan & The Adam Smith Centre). Farhan was also featured on Channel News Asia (CNA) A Singaporean Abroad 2 Documentary for his contribution towards helping street children in the ASEAN region.
